This week the kids are home for 3 days, gone for 2, home for 2 and while they are home Grandmothers have asked for them a day here or there. With 4 kids it makes planning a nightmare! So here is a list of what I think we are going to have.

Monday: Turkey and Dumplings

Tuesday: Tacos

Wednesday: Baked Spaghetti

Thursday: Pow Wow (Indian food I’m assuming)

Friday: Turkey, dressing and all the trimmings

Saturday: Turkey Pot Pie

Sunday: Roast and Potatoes.

This morning I’m thinking about the rest of my week, and how many things I have to do. Homeschool is going much better since My son now really understands his schedule of things to do which I have written on these sheets for him to have and keep notes on. We also have a family thing, its Gran Gran’s 80th Birthday. I have to find something to wear, crossing my fingers! And to top it off, Friday I have two research papers due, I know I procrastinate! This week is gonna be hectic on my end personally because its getting close to the end of the semester. So I think I’m going with things that are easy to prepare or just put in the crockpot.

Wednesday: Spaghetti, French Bread, Salad
Thursday: Mexican (Any Recipe for Crock?)
Friday: :Leftovers
Saturday: Gran Gran’s 80th Birthday Party (what to wear?)
Sunday: meat loaf, Mashed Potatoes, Salad

I’ve continued with my menus, but with computer problems it has been hard to get things posted on my blog. I”ve resorted to using my calendar, moleskine and my phone to keep up with the world and my brain! lol

I’m eating out of my pantry and freezer for the most part this weekagain. We are planning another hurricane or gocart race for Saturday. So in honor of those things, we will be concentrating on the grill for the weekend.

Monday/Mexican: Nachos

Tuesday/Crockpot: Cowboy Soup

Wednesday/Southern: Chicken Pot Pie

Thursday: Spaghetti

Friday: Grilled Pizza

Saturday: Hot Dogs and Hamburgers

Sunday: Pork Tenderloin

Well its Monday night and all is well, although we will be feeling the effects of Gustav at least until Thursday! I’m going to take the things we had bought for the hurricane and what I had left in the freezer for this week instead of taking the chance of going to town in such bad rain. So in a way Its a frugal menu also. So here goes.

This is what I have in my freezer:

• Chicken (maybe enough for 2 days)
• Ground Beef
• Fish (prolly not enough for everyone)
• 1 steak
• Corn on the Cob
• mixed veggies
• broccoli
• soup and gumbo mixture

Items in the pantry:

• canned tomatos
• rotel tomatos
• pasta
• rice
• various soups
• Potatos

Items in the Fridge:

• cheese
• bacon
• eggs
• milk
• bell peppers
• onions
• roast beef and turkey
• beer
• tortillas
• carrots
• green beans

Well those lists really do not have all that I have on hand, but its a basic list. I have most any seasoning that I’d ever need. Now lets get to work.

Monday/Mexican: Well its over and we had pizza and McDonalds.

Tuesday/CrockPot: Homemade Soup

Wednesday/Southern: Chicken and Dumplings

Thursday/Try Something New: Rotel Chicken with Bacon

Friday/Italian: Since monday was Italian we’ll have Mexican. Fish Tacos

Saturday/Out: We will be gone to the Go Cart Races we hope.

Sunday/Leftovers: There should be plenty

This week Seth and I talked about doing a theme a day for supper. We want to get the kids into eating better, along with us watching our weight. We are trying to come up with good alternatives and use the 90/10 rule. Well at least take small steps toward this rule. So here’s the themes I’ve come up with.
