Tackle it Tuesday #119 (Getting Homeschool Started)

September 2, 2008 at 6:49 pm 1 comment

This week we’ve been interupted by Hurricane Gustav, but we did get school started for my 11 year old son Payton. We had been doing a co-op class for Alabama history, and a little spelling here and there. Then came all of the books that we wanted to start with. I did lesson plans for a couple weeks, and now I see that things need to be adjusted. After Christmas we will be adding a couple things also. So far things are going really well. There are days that he gets up and finishes before 10am, then others that he’s not in such a motivated mood, and it takes all day. Today is an unmotivated day, but at least he’s tackling grammar now, and not fighting it.

That’s our tackle for this week. I will update with projects and field trips that will be comming up later in the year.
